Program Overview

The WNIH Post-Graduate Scholarship Program supports advanced research that contributes to the transformation of food systems in the West Nile Region and beyond. We fund master's and PhD candidates whose research aligns with our mission of regenerative and inclusive food systems.

Graduate scholars work closely with WNIH researchers, gain access to our field sites and data, and contribute to evidence-based solutions for food system challenges.

Research Funding

Comprehensive funding for research activities, fieldwork, and data collection

Monthly Stipend

Regular stipend to cover living expenses during the research period

Co-Supervision

Joint supervision by WNIH experts and university faculty members

Publication Support

Assistance with academic writing, journal submissions, and conference presentations

Conference Attendance

Funding for presenting research at national and international conferences

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be enrolled or accepted into a recognized Master's or PhD program in a relevant field
  • Research topic must align with RIFS goals and WNIH's mission
  • Must submit a strong, feasible research proposal (maximum 5 pages)
  • Must demonstrate commitment to community engagement and participatory research
  • Must provide a letter of support from the home institution and proposed supervisor
  • Priority given to candidates conducting research in the West Nile Region
  • Candidates from the West Nile Region and female researchers are strongly encouraged to apply

Graduate research opportunities are announced periodically. To express interest:

  • Email us at westnileinnovationhub@gmail.com with "Post-Graduate Research Interest" in the subject line
  • Include a brief research concept (1-2 pages), your CV, and your university affiliation
  • Schedule a preliminary discussion with our research team to explore alignment
  • Submit a full proposal when formal calls are announced
