We are proud to announce that 500 smallholder farmers across five districts have successfully completed our intensive regenerative agriculture training program. This marks our largest cohort to date!

The eight-week program covered soil health management, water conservation, integrated pest management, agroforestry, and market access strategies.

Key Outcomes:

  • 95% of graduates have already started implementing new techniques on their farms
  • Farmers report improved understanding of soil health and composting
  • 20 new farmer peer-learning groups formed across districts

"This training has opened my eyes. I used to burn my crop residues, but now I know they are gold for my soil," shared Grace Munduru, a graduate from Terego District.

Beans and Ground Nuts: A Success Story from Arilo

How intercropping is transforming livelihoods in Yumbe District

Farmers in Arilo, Yumbe District, are seeing remarkable improvements in their incomes after adopting bean-ground nut intercropping practices introduced through WNIH programs.

The Numbers Speak:

  • Intercropping farmers earn 1,850,000 UGX per hectare
  • 35-45% more income compared to monocrop farming
  • 40% increase in household dietary diversity
  • 18% improvement in soil nitrogen levels

The success in Arilo is now being shared with neighboring communities, with plans to scale the approach across the entire Yumbe District. We are working with local government to integrate these practices into extension services.

This is not just about researchβ€”it's about transforming lives through sustainable agriculture. Communities are not passive recipients; they are active agents of change.
